Jackfish tornadoes, barracuda schools, eagle rays, groupers, grey reef sharks
Ulong Wall and Ulong Channel are located on the same reef flat, but they offer completely different diving experiences. Home to over 90 species of soft and hard corals, this site is a paradise for a dense variety of reef fish, offering a rich ecosystem and incredible depth of field. Ulong Wall is also one of the best spots in Palau to catch a jackfish tornado. Schools of jackfish often hover about 10 meters above divers, making it perfect for capturing stunning, wide-angle shots. Every winter, you might even spot schools of juvenile grey reef sharks patrolling near the wall. With its spectacular schools of fish, vibrant corals, and consistent visibility, Ulong Wall is a classic dive site that’s as beautiful to see as it is to photograph.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

A remarkably intact WWII relic
The JAKE is a remarkably well-preserved Japanese Navy Aichi E13A-1 reconnaissance seaplane. Resting just a 5-minute boat ride off the coast of Koror, it sits securely on a sandy seabed at a depth of about 12 meters. Its propeller remains perfectly intact, suggesting it didn't crash but likely sank by other means. With its shallow depth and typically calm currents, this is an accessible dive site perfect for relaxed exploration and photography. As one of Palau's most iconic historical sites, the JAKE is more than just a wreck—it’s a silent underwater museum, bearing witness to wartime history and the memories of the sea.

CHANDELIER CAVE

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

Limestone formations, Mandarin fish
Chandelier Cave is one of the most unique dive sites near Koror, tucked away in a cliffside and sculpted over millions of years. The entrance sits about 5–7 meters underwater, making this natural limestone cavern accessible only to divers. Inside, you’ll find four separate chambers, each filled with stalactites featuring distinct shapes, textures, and signs of age. With no natural light, the cave is pitch black; as your dive light sweeps across the columns and water, it creates a dramatic, theater-like atmosphere. NEW DROP-OFF

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

Sea fans, gray reef sharks, blacktip reef sharks, silvertip sharks, humphead wrasse, hawksbill turtles, midnight snappers, cornetfish, and various reef fish
Another famous "shark spot" besides Blue Corner, located on a different cape of the same reef plateau. While not as well-known as Blue Corner, you can still spot many of the same marine life here, including gray reef sharks, oceanic whitetip sharks, schools of jackfish, tuna, and humphead parrotfish. Due to the terrain, upwellings and downwellings are common, so keep a close eye on your safety and orientation. The strong currents bring in plenty of nutrients, covering the area below 25 meters with beautiful sea fans and soft corals. Although the coral plateau doesn't have a high density of hard corals, it's a frequent hangout for green sea turtles and hawksbill turtles, making it a popular spot for turtle sightings.
