PADI Enriched Air Diver Course

Dive longer and better

Become Enriched Air

PADI Enriched Air Diver Course

Remember what the No Decompression Limit (NDL) is? As we dive, nitrogen accumulates in our bodies through breathing. The deeper and higher the pressure, the faster it builds up. Once nitrogen reaches a certain level, we must perform decompression stops. Since recreational diving is meant to be no-decompression, the NDL determines the maximum time we can stay underwater. (If you don't get it, come find an instructor!)

Using enriched air slows down nitrogen absorption, extending your NDL!

Benefits of Enriched Air:
  1. Extend dive time
Less nitrogen, more time at depth
  2. Shorter surface intervals
  3. Longer NDLs for repetitive dives

There are many benefits, but you must understand safety protocols, risk management, and equipment use to dive with enriched air safely.

The thalassophile club maintains a neutral stance on visiting Dolphin Bay. Generally, we oppose the captivity of marine mammals; however, the ecosystem at Dolphins Pacific is unique. We have personally inspected the environment and met the trainers, and we believe they are doing their best to care for the dolphins living there. That said, we completely respect your decision if you are firmly against any form of wildlife captivity.

Course Details

  • Certification Requirements: Must pass the written exam and complete two nitrox dives.
  • Please provide a digital ID photo for your certification application (any size, file must be 300KB or larger).

Diving Guidelines

  • Boat rides to dive sites take about 30-50 minutes. If you are prone to seasickness, we recommend bringing your own motion sickness medication. Actual dive sites are determined based on weather, currents, wave conditions, and the preferences and fitness of the group. For safety reasons, the lead dive guide reserves the right to make the final decision. Please follow your guide's instructions at all times and do not wander off from the group. Any costs or legal liabilities resulting from unauthorized departure or reckless behavior will be the sole responsibility of the individual. Please protect the ocean; do not touch coral or other marine life during your dives. Be mindful of your physical condition. If you are hungover, overly exhausted, or feeling unwell, please assess your fitness before diving. Avoid alcohol for at least eight hours before diving. For safety, every participant must wear a dive computer on every dive and adhere to its no-decompression limits and other instructions. If a computer "locks out" due to improper diving, the company reserves the right to prohibit the participant from diving until the computer is fully functional again, with no compensation provided. At specific sites (such as Blue Corner, Siaes Corner, Ulong Channel, or Peleliu Express), every participant must carry a reef hook to ensure safety and prevent damage to the coral. Flying is prohibited within 12 hours of a single dive or 18 hours of repetitive dives. To protect the coral reefs, Palau has banned sunscreens containing harmful ingredients. We recommend physical sun protection (rash guards and hats) instead of sunscreen. Please avoid wearing makeup, and if you must use sunscreen, choose an "ocean-friendly" product.
