Palau's Best Kept Secret

SUP Paddleboarding Experience

Paddleboarding in the Rock Islands is an incredible experience. Located in Koror, Palau, the Rock Islands Southern Lagoon features a massive barrier reef enclosing an inner sea and over 440 islands, covering 1,000 square kilometers. Millions of years of tectonic movement, erosion, and rising sea levels have created Palau’s iconic mushroom-shaped islands and marine lakes. The vast reef area, with its coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangroves, and limestone forests, provides diverse habitats for over 1,500 species of fish, 700 types of coral and anemones, 13 species of sharks, and 10 endemic bird species. The best way to explore these stunning coral waters is by SUP or kayak.

The Rock Islands' inner lagoons are protected by surrounding reefs, keeping the water calm and lake-like year-round. This natural, wave-free environment makes stand-up paddleboarding easy and accessible, allowing even beginners to quickly master the basics and glide through the beautiful coral seas.

The thalassophile club maintains a neutral stance on visiting Dolphin Bay. Generally, we oppose the captivity of marine mammals; however, the ecosystem at Dolphins Pacific is unique. We have personally inspected the environment and met the trainers, and we believe they are doing their best to care for the dolphins living there. That said, we completely respect your decision if you are firmly against any form of wildlife captivity.
